What I help with

Stress and pressure in men

Maybe it's work, money, family, or everything at once. You're getting through each day, but you can't switch off, you're shorter with people than you'd like, and it's starting to wear you down.

Signs it's catching up with you

  • Struggling to sleep or switch off, even when you're tired
  • Snapping at people you care about, then feeling bad about it
  • Feeling flat, drained or running on empty most of the time
  • Drinking, using or scrolling more to take the edge off
  • Feeling like you should be able to handle it on your own

What's often underneath

Stress is often what you notice first, but there's usually something underneath it. For some men it's anger that's hard to control. For others it's not feeling sure who they are, things not working in their relationships, or feeling stuck without a sense of direction. Working out what's really driving the pressure is often where things start to shift.

Why rest alone doesn't fix it

A weekend away or a few early nights can help, but often the stress is back within days. That's because rest eases the symptoms without changing what's causing them. If the pressure comes from something you're carrying, like old expectations, unspoken anger or a life that doesn't feel like your own, it tends to return until that's looked at.

How I can help

In our sessions we'll look at what's behind the stress, not just how to cope with it. Alongside that, we'll find practical ways to ease the pressure day to day, like noticing your early warning signs and building in time to properly switch off. Sometimes I'll listen, sometimes I'll offer a suggestion, depending on what helps.
